Prayer Room And Office Reveal

Though this space was really unique (it’s above our garage), it was really fun to create and bring to life.

Enjoy this short video of the full remodel.

BEFORE:

This was the space before we did anything to it.

This room is above the garage and you have access to it from the master bedroom and a second staircase from the first floor. So, it’s pretty neat because it’s a space totally for my husband and me.
The first thing we did was remove the carpets and install new floors. These are the same floors we used in the master bedroom (so inexpensive yet beautiful and so easy to take care of).
We then painted the walls, doors and bookshelves.

AFTER:

This space was a bit of a challenge to create because it will be our office space and our prayer room/Bible study area. I thought the best way to combine the two spaces was just to make one side the office and the other side an area for my Bible study and quiet time with the Lord.

These sofas came with completely different covers but I did not like them so I went on a hunt to find the perfect covers.

pillow covers:

These and also these covers were the two sets we purchased. I loved both sets. Well, that is until I finally found the area rug I loved for this space. Once I purchased that, I no longer loved the covers and finally purchased these linen covers and these boho style. They are absolutely GORGEOUS! You can see how they look with the different pictures.

are rug:

After trying about 5 area rugs, this is the one I fell in love with.

baskets:

I love to decorate with baskets throughout the entire home and have this one in a few areas. In this basket, I keep the kids’ toys when they play by me and just cover the mess with a blanket. Ha, mama hack.

end table:

The end table is from Target and here is a similar lamp.

The side chairs by the window are so pretty. They aren’t are comfortable as I want chairs so if you are looking for comfy chairs, there are not for you.

I just used a basket for my plant. Looks so cute. I tried the plant between the chairs and on the side of it and like the side better.

I debated about closing off these built-in bookshelves. They were in such weird areas of the room but decided against it and after decorating the space, I’m glad I did.

This is where I’m going to keep all of my Bible study notes, pencils, etc. I loved the idea of adding the books to a basket instead of having them out.

OFFICE AREA-

For the office, we needed a large desk. Everywhere I looked they were either too expensive or it was too small for space. So we found this table at Value City. You’d never know it wasn’t a desk and the quality was great.

To match the whitish/gray desk, I found the cutest file cabinet and bookshelf, and the swivel chairs to match.

This is a lamp that is similar to the one we purchased. A similar woven tray, the pencil and pen holders, and white baskets with wooden lids.

Well, friends. Though I’ll still slowly add things to this space as I have time but I’m already loving this progress.

Oh and I added a few of my favorite Bible verses into the picture frames. Just had them printed at Walmart, so inexpensive.

(The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace. Num 6:24-26)

(Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. Phil 4:8)

(P.S. In an upcoming post, I cannot wait to share all my Bible study and spiritual warfare tips I’ve learned over the years.)

Fondly,
