DIY Textured Wall Art
I think we’ve all seen the textured canvas wall art that has been trending online. I was so inspired by it and knew I had to have something like it for our new home.
However, once I saw the price tag I realized my husband and I will have to try and recreate it ourselves, and I have to say, it came out beautiful.

What You’ll Need:
- All-Purposer Joint Compound
- Putty Knife (doesn’t matter the size)
- Canvas (whatever size you need)
optional:
- Pine Stop Molding (1 ¼-inch)
- Weathered gray and Early American Stains

| Expert Tips: – If you have a hobby lobby near you, every other month they have 40-50% off their canvases and you can get an incredible deal on a large canvas! – The end result will be white but you can also paint the dry canvas to any color you like! |

How to DIY Textured Wall Art:
- Set up your area to do the DIY. We recommend doing it outside on an old blanket or tarp.
- Lay the canvas flat. Make sure there is no flying dust or debris around.
- With a putty knife, start applying the compound in thick layers.
- Apply in different thicknesses and smooth out as desired across the entire canvas.
- Transfer canvas to dry (you’ll need to give it two days).
- Once the canvas has dried fix any area that may have cracked.
- You can leave the canvas as is or add a trim around the border.
- Stain the trim and measure the size.
- Nail trim to the canvas and hang it!
