Our story-

When I delivered our 6th child (read about the dramatic delivery HERE), something happened to my body and I just cannot tolerate a lot of products I was normally okay with predelivery.

When we came home from delivery, I just started itching like crazy. I mean I would itch so bad that scabs covered my entire body. So I started researching what to do and the first thing I did was go natural with products, starting with my detergent. To my surprise, I was fine. And soon as I went back to regular products, my body would react the same way.

Having a large family though, natural products those are NOT cheap! So I began researching and trying to make my own products at a fraction of the price. If you’ve even thought to try your own cleaning products, I encourage you to do that. I’ll be sharing many recipes for those here.

All the ingredients needed for homemade glass cleaner on a counter.

Homemade Glass Cleaner-

This homemade glass cleaner is so easy to make and uses ingredients you already have in your home.

What You’ll Need:

  • Vinegar
  • Rubbing Alcohol
  • 1 ¼ cups water
  • 8-10 drops of essential oils, optional (we love lemon and lavender)

What bottle should I use?

You can use any bottle you have on hand but we are getting rid of plastic in the home and using glass. So we got a set of THESE glass bottles and are using them for all of our DIY cleaning products.

Do I have to add essential oils?

Honestly, you don’t have to add the essential oils but I love the smell over classic vinegar, ha! We use the NOW essential oils in our home. They are affordable and of very good quality. We’ve tried other brands of essential oils but then when we researched them a lot of the brands did not align with our Christian values (I actually had to throw away a lot of essential oils).

How to DIY Glass Cleaner-

  1. In a bottle, add all of the ingredients.
  2. Close lid and shake well.
  3. Spray and wipe down.
  4. Store the glass cleaner at room temperature.
  5. Shake before each use.

How to Make Labels-

For the labels, just purchase THESE labels, and the font we used for them was glacial indifference. Then just print and add to the bottle.

To wipe down we use THESE amazing magic rags. You can also use paper towels but I love these rags as they are reusable and more affordable.

Well, friends, I can’t wait to hear what you think about the cleaner.

Question: What other products would you like me to share? We have so many coming up but I want to be able to

  1. 5 stars
Thank you for home made and so easy glass cleaner recipe. I also have allergy from regular products. And please, if you want, to explain me the issue about other essential oil brands that does not align with your Christian value. I am a Christian too, and would be very helpful your information. Thank you!

    1. It really is just so amazingly easy.
Ana, if you have a particular essential oil you use, do some research on it. Who the owners are what they believe. You may be disgusted by some of the info you find. (You can also email me if you cannot find anything, I’d be more than happy to chat, (lifeinourcorner at gmail dot come).
Blessings to you and your family.
