What You Need:
- Stud Finder
- Drill – this is the drill he uses
- Wood – Wooden planks that are cut to size and stained. You can use your favorite wood from Home Depot or Lowe’s.
- Floating shelf brackets – These invisible brackets make these shelves extra easy to install.
- Stain – Determine which stain you want. My favorite is to stain with weathered gray, then to go over that with early american.
Let’s Get Started:
- Cut the wood. You can have the store precut your wood so you don’t have to do it at home. (They do it for free.)
- Find studs. Use a stud finder and a pencil to mark two spots per plank (one in each stud). Repeat this for every shelf.
- Drill holes. Use a smaller drill bit to drill holes at the markings, then screw in the brackets.
- Dill bracket. Line up the wooden shelf with the bracket, then use a rubber mallet to secure it tightly to the screws.
- Repeat the last step with the remaining shelves.
Decorate:
Now for the fun part, it’s time to decorate! We love to stack different elements to create a visually appealing display.
